How to Open Kick Links in the Kick App on iPhone
Why Kick links open in Safari or the Instagram browser on iPhone instead of the Kick app, and how to make them open the app every time.

On iPhone, opening a Kick link in the Kick app is trickier than on Android. Apple decides when a link may open an app, and inside apps like Instagram and TikTok the answer is usually “not automatically”. Here's how it works and how to make Kick links open the app reliably.
How iPhones decide to open the Kick app
iOS uses a feature called Universal Links. The Kick app tells your iPhone it can handle kick.com links. When you tap a kick.com link from another app or website, iOS opens the Kick app instead of loading the page. A few rules matter:
- It has to be a real tap. Automatic redirects don't open apps.
- The tap has to come from a different website than kick.com.
- In-app browsers (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat) often ignore Universal Links and load the page themselves.
- If you once chose to open kick.com in Safari, iOS can remember that choice for kick.com links.
The fix: a link with a one-tap Open in Kick button
An OpenInKick link is built around those rules. When an iPhone user taps openinkick.com/yourname:
- If they're inside Instagram, TikTok or another in-app browser, the link first tries to jump into Safari, where app links work reliably.
- They see a clean page with a big green Open in Kick app button that links to your channel.
- One tap and iOS opens the Kick app on your channel. If the app isn't installed, they get kick.com instead.
It's one extra tap compared with Android, but fans land in the app, logged in and ready to chat. That beats a logged-out browser every time.
Make an iPhone-friendly Kick link
Paste your Kick link and get a free link that opens the Kick app, with click stats.
Create my Kick app linkFor viewers: if a Kick link keeps opening the browser
- Inside Instagram: tap the ••• menu at the top right of the browser and choose Open in external browser. Then tap the Kick link or button again.
- Inside TikTok: tap ••• and choose Open in browser.
- Reset the Safari choice: in Safari, long-press any kick.com link and choose Open in “Kick”. iOS will open the app for kick.com links again.
- Check the app is installed and up to date from the App Store.
What about Android?
Android is simpler: OpenInKick links open the Kick app instantly with no extra tap, even from inside Instagram and TikTok. See the Instagram guide for details.
Questions
Why doesn't my iPhone open the Kick app automatically?
iOS only opens an app from a link when a person taps it, and only from apps that allow it. Inside Instagram or TikTok's built-in browser, links stay in that browser. A tap on the Open in Kick app button is what triggers the app.
I tapped the link and it opened kick.com in Safari. What happened?
Either the Kick app isn't installed, or iOS remembered that you chose to open kick.com in the browser. Long-press a kick.com link in Safari and choose Open in Kick to reset it.
Does this work on iPad?
Yes, if the Kick app is installed on the iPad. iPads in desktop-site mode may open kick.com in the browser instead.
